A perfect homemade Fall treat!
One of the things I enjoy doing most in the autumn is going apple picking with my family. Last weekend, we went apple picking at Easy Pickins Orchard in Enfield CT. The weather was absolutely ideal, with temperatures in the high 60s, bright sunshine, and a clear sky. It was the perfect day for picking apples.

It goes without saying that after we pick the apples, we like to use them to bake a Fall-inspired treat. That's where this apple cinnamon swirl loaf recipe comes in.
This delightful dessert is like having a slice of Autumn... with apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar, it's simply irresistible!

This bread is both moist and flavorful, and it's incredibly simple to prepare.
Ingredients:
For the Bread
⅓ cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (divided)
2 apples peeled and chopped (any kind)
⅔ cups sugar + 2 tablespoons (divided)
½ cup butter (softened)
2 large eggs
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ cups flour
1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup milk
For the Glaze
1-3 tablespoons milk (divided)
1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350º Fahrenheit
Prepare a loaf pan by spraying with nonstick cooking spray
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Set aside
In a medium bowl, add chopped apples. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon over top
Stir until apples are well-coated. Set aside
In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and ⅔ cup sugar together until fluffy
Add eggs and vanilla and beat again until smooth
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt
Pour flour mixture into batter and beat
Add ½ cup milk and mix until uniform throughout
Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan
Sprinkle half of the apples over top of batter and then half of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture
Pour remaining batter over top, then remaining apples and remaining brown sugar/cinnamon mixture
Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean
Allow the bread to cool before removing from the pan
Drizzle the glaze over the bread before serving
Whether you use fresh apples picked from an orchard or store-bought ones, I hope you decide to give this recipe a try and enjoy it.
