Well, here we are at chapter 55! It's so hard to believe, but I am celebrating my 55th birthday this weekend and am ever so grateful to see another year. With that, every year for my birthday, I select a specialty cocktail for the occasion. This year's selection is a French 76. I'm sure that you've heard of the French 75 cocktail, well, I like to say that the French 76 is it's cousin (they are very similar, just vodka vs. gin).
This drink features some of my favorites... vodka, champagne and lemon!

French 76 Recipe
Ingredients:
1 ounce (30 ml) vodka
¾ ounce (22 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
¾ ounce (22 ml) 1:1 simple syrup
3 ounces (90 ml) Champagne
1 lemon twist, to garnish
Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
Measure and pour in vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
Shake well, until very cold.
Strain gin mixture into a Champagne glass.
Top with the Champagne.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
Serve & enjoy!
