When hosting guests for Thanksgiving and looking for a special way to serve breakfast, think about making individual pumpkin pancake charcuterie boards.
What is an individual pumpkin pancake charcuterie board?
Enjoy a single pancake charcuterie board featuring mini pumpkin pancakes, a variety of pancake toppings, and your choice of breakfast items. This makes for a delightful breakfast option suitable for both children and adults during Thanksgiving weekend or any other special occasion!
Not only is it visually appealing and innovative, but it also caters to a wide audience, making it suitable for the entire family. There are numerous choices available for you to personalize it with any of your preferred breakfast items.
Ingredients you’ll need for this Pancake Breakfast Charcuterie board
Pancakes. You can use mini pancakes, buttermilk pancakes, or your favorite pancake recipe. I used boxed pumpkin pancake mix for this pancake platter.
Maple syrup. Either maple syrup or honey (or both!)
Fresh fruit. Fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries), or any seasonal fruit that you can get your hands on or that will pair well with the pumpkin pancakes
Walnuts. Any nuts to fill in those little gaps in your pancake board
Raisins. Also help to fill in gaps and add another level of sweetness to the mix
Bacon. You've got to have bacon, I mean, who doesn't love bacon
To me, charcuterie boards are like to puzzles, and since I enjoy puzzles, I relish the process of assembling various pieces to craft something both visually appealing and delicious.
Here are some tips for creating a pancake charcuterie board:
Tip #1 - Plan ahead
Prepare batter ahead of time, and map out the board the night before. You can also wash and dry berries in advance.
Tip #2 - Start with the biggest items
Place the largest items on the board first, like bowls filled with syrup, honey and/or yogurt.
Tip #3 - Arrange pancakes
Arrange pancakes in an orderly fashion around the bowls. You can place in a straight line or try placing them in an S shape.
Tip #4 - Add variety
Include a variety of colors and textures.
Tip #5 - Keep hot items warm
Keep hot items like bacon and potatoes warm in a 200-degree oven until you're ready to serve. Tip #6 - Set up for self-service
Lay out dishes, napkins, and cutlery, and prepare a self-service drink station.
You can also add other toppings and sides to your pancake board, such as roasted red potatoes, fancy syrups, and whipped cream.
If you choose to give this creative board a try for Thanksgiving, I would greatly appreciate it if you could return to the blog and share your feedback on how it went.
Until next time...
